MC Dressage Training
Whether you are a happy hacker or an aspiring Grand Prix rider, Matt can offer training, help and advice.
I like to encourage and help my clients to achieve their goals. I like to understand the riders' thought process. I believe their mental state has a big part to play in the horse's way of going and enjoy teaching the partnership as a pair.
I competed my ex-eventer from Novice to Prix St George. However, at home we trained up to Grand Prix. Through this journey I developed my understanding and my training methods. I think sometimes the rider's mental state is not taken into the equation. As well as understanding the horse's thought processes, we should also understand the rider's.
I have trained all types of horses from riding club level cobs to big flashy dressage warmbloods. I have not just trained pure dressage, I also have worked with show jumpers, showing horses and eventers. I train them with the same goal in mind: Success!
Matt is happy to discuss any of your training requirements. "I like to have a feel of the horse, and sometimes I like to set the horse up for the rider to help them achieve the feel.
Some riders learn better from example and seeing what they are aiming for. The way a rider sits really affects the horse, so I aim to help the rider achieve a better seat and posture. I believe also that a rider should have an affect on the horse and not just be a passenger. A positive seat and mind creates a much better rider. My aim is to make this a reality for the rider".
